Hospitals and clinics

A patient’s mobile runs flat, gets lost in the bedside drawer, or is too much to manage. A bedside phone with a handset and a few keys is easier, and it shouldn’t keep anything once the patient goes home.

  • Use it as yourself. The bedside phone is a Lounge phone: the patient (or a visitor helping them) scans its code and presses the key it flashes. Their own people are now on the keys, and calls to them ring at the bedside.
  • It forgets them. The session ends when they log out, after the time the ward sets, at the end of the day, or when the next patient signs in. The server keeps only who, which phone and when, nothing about the calls.
  • The ward’s desk, one press away. While nobody is signed in, the keys can ring the ward’s desk or a staff group.
  • Family anywhere. Patients with an account on the hospital’s server, another server or the free hub can sign in, if the hospital allows guests.
  1. Get started with an Organization space.
  2. Set up a Lounge phone at the bedside, choose the session length and turn on guests if you want them.
  3. Under Lounge settings → When nobody is signed in, put the ward’s desk on the keys.
